  • Beverages: Includes alcoholic beverages like beer, wine, cider, and pre-mixed drinks below 7% ABV.

  • Children’s Essentials: Clothing, footwear, car seats, diapers, and toys such as board games, dolls, and video game consoles

  • Books and Media: Books, puzzles, and print newspapers.

  • Holiday Items: Christmas trees and holiday decorations.

Families spending $2,000 on eligible goods could save $100 in GST during this period.

In provinces with Harmonized Sales Tax (HST), like Ontario, the savings could be up to $260 for the same expenditure.

Working Canadians Rebate


The Working Canadians Rebate is a one-time payment of $250 designed to support individuals who have been active in the workforce during 2023.

Canadians who meet these criteria are eligible for Working Canadians Rebate:


  • Having working income in year 2023.

  • Earned an income of up to $150,000.

 

Working Canadians Rebate Payment Timeline:


Disbursements are scheduled to begin in early spring 2025. Payments will be issued either through direct deposit or mailed cheques, depending on the recipient's existing arrangements with the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA).
